Holiday Hoedown Week 1
In an attempt to keep any holiday weight gain from creeping up on me I've joined the Holiday Hoedown challenge over at Shrinking Jeans. We've been given our first week's challenges today, and I'll be using my lonely ignored blog to document my hopeful progress.
The fitness challenge part is to log as many exercise minutes as possible. Boy do I need that motivation! Saturday was the last real exercise I did lately. Not good! So this will get me moving again. Treadmill-ho!
The nonfitness part is outline our goals. So here are mine:
How much do you want to lose? 30 pounds! Ok ok, I know that's not realistic for a couple weeks challenge lol. Honestly, I'm setting my goal for a whopping 5 pounds. That would put me at the lowest weight I've been in 15 years, and it would break the under 160 barrier.
What are your fitness goals for this challenge? To continue running on the treadmill--as in to run longer stretches and walk less, and maybe to pick my pace up just a tiny bit. I also know how important strength training is so I need to fit that in too. I'm thinking of maybe doing a push-up challenge to myself. Start with 10 push ups (real man style!) and increase it each week by say 5.
What will you be doing to track your food or calories? I was at Sparkpeople for so many years, and I decided a clean break would be nice so I started tracking over at My Fitness Pal where my friend Jenn has been logging her fantastic weight loss progress. So if you remotely care about what I'm eating or the exercise I'm doing, you can find all the dirt there.
Finally, the scary honest truth that no one is supposed to ask a woman, I'll admit freely. My starting weight at the beginning of this challenge is... 164.5.
Good luck to all do-si-do-ing, and to my team - GO JIGGLE BELLES!
